Landcruiser 200 : March 2013
When you’re deep in the outback, every moment presents a new challenge. And it’s in these moments – when it really comes to the crunch – that you discover the real meaning of power. In the LandCruiser 200 that power comes in the choice of two awe-inspiring engines: the 4.6 litre V8 petrol1 with dual VVT-i technology (Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence), and the 4.5 litre V8 Twin Turbo–diesel. Both engines are capable of producing blistering power, matched with unsurpassed smoothness. Strength in numbers. The 4.6 litre V8 petrol engine1 is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Producing 227kW, it’s seriously powerful. And with a maximum torque of 439Nm at 3400rpm, it pulls like a train too. Amazingly, these increases in power and torque don’t come at a cost at the fuel pump. Designed to comply with tightened EURO IV emissions regulations, this new engine offers improved fuel efficiency as well as superior performance. The 4.5 litre V8 Twin Turbo-diesel engine with intercooler and direct injection is a serious powerhouse in its own right. Belting out 195kW of power at 3400rpm, and torque of 650Nm at 1600-2600rpm, it cruises effortlessly across this wide brown land. Extreme power, gently expressed. Whichever engine you prefer, it comes matched to a 6-speed Super ECT (Electronic Control Transmission) automatic transmission. Developed using the latest technology, it improves performance, fuel efficiency, smoothness and drivability, while ensuring the vehicle remains surprisingly quiet even at high speeds. So whether you’re asking it to cross the city or the continent, the LandCruiser 200 Series has the power to do it – all without raising a sweat. The power to take you anywhere. 1 Not available on GX grade.
